Uniforms, known as Gi's, bare significance in Zen Do Kai, we outline the differences here.
Today all coloured belt ranks generally wear a navy blue or black Gi (uniform) with red or white pieces above the Bicep area and along the full extent of the collar line and their coloured belt. Under special circumstances some coloured belt students are awarded the privilege of wearing the Black Gi with their coloured belt (generally only awarded at Brown Belt level).Black belts are recognised by the following uniforms:
Probationary First Degree - Black Belt, Black Gi.
1st Degree - Black Belt, Black Gi with Red Collar.
2nd Degree - Black Belt with Red Characters (blood markings), Black Gi with red collar and sleeves.
3rd Degree - belt no change, Red Gi.
4th Degree - Red and White stripe on belt (white on top of red), White Gi.
5th Degree - Red and White stripe on belt (red on top of white), Gi no change.
6th Degree - Black Belt with 10mm central Red stripe, Gi no change.
7th Degree - Black Belt with 15mm central Red stripe, Gi no change.
8th Degree - Black Belt with 20mm Red central stripe, Gi no change.
9th Degree - Red Belt with 15mm central Black stripe, Gi no change.
10th Degree - Solid Red Belt, Gi no change.
